Every dog deserves a home but not every home deserves a dog.
That’s one big hearted boy! He and Clark are so Sweet together. The parents are wonderful for taking Clark home❤️⭐️🐾
The encounter happened during Labor Day weekend in 2026.
Reese was traveling with his parents, Alexandra and Rollins Luckey, as they drove from Florida to their home in Atlanta.
When the family stopped for gas, a large pit bull greeted them outside the station.
The dog walked directly toward the family and immediately showed them affection. He behaved like someone’s beloved pet, but there was no owner in sight.
Employees inside the gas station told the Luckeys that the dog had been there for a long time and that they didn’t know who owned him.
Reese quickly fell in love with his sweet personality.
When the little boy realized the dog had been left there alone, he became overwhelmed and started crying.
He couldn’t understand how anyone could abandon such a loving animal.
“We can’t just leave this animal here,” Reese told his parents.
Alexandra and Rollins looked at the lonely dog and then at their heartbroken son.
Taking an unfamiliar dog home from a gas station had never been part of their road-trip plans.
But leaving him behind no longer felt like an option.
Alexandra opened the car and welcomed the dog inside.
Reese’s tears immediately turned into a smile.
The family posted the dog’s photograph in a local lo.st-pets Fb group, hoping to learn where he had come from.
They were told by a community member that his previous owner had neglected him and no longer wanted him.
The Luckeys decided he would never be [un.wan.ted] again.
Reese named him Clark and officially welcomed him into the family.
Clark quickly settled into his new home.
He began running around with the family’s other dog, Bunny, climbing into Rollins’ lap and covering him with kisses.
For Reese, the dog he had cried over at a gas station became his new best friend.
Clark had spent his days waiting outside as strangers came and went.
Then one family stopped.
And one little boy cared too deeply to leave without him.
So very happy this precious boy stepped up for this sweet [a.ban.do.ned] animal. 😇
