A gorilla was caught [st.eali.ng] garden gnomes from homes in Uganda, but researchers became even more confused when they discovered what he was doing with them.
For weeks, people living near the forest had [re.por.ted] garden gnomes mysteriously [di.sappe.aring] from their yards. Most assumed someone was [st.eali.ng] them. Then a homeowner checked his security camera.
The footage showed a gorilla wandering into the yard, inspecting several decorations and casually walking away with a garden gnome in his hand. People quickly nicknamed him the “Gnome Gorilla,” but nobody knew where he was taking them.
A few days later, a researcher monitoring trail cameras deeper in the area finally got an answer. The same gorilla appeared on camera carrying another gnome through the forest.
Nearby were several others. Different colors, different sizes, all gathered together in what looked strangely like a collection. Nobody could explain why the gorilla had become so fascinated with garden gnomes or why he kept bringing them to the same place.
But people online had a much simpler explanation.
Everyone needs a hobby. Even gorillas.
