A garden center employee found a baby deer sleeping beside a statue, then realized why it had stayed there all night.
Late one evening, the store’s security camera captured a young fawn wandering alone along the sidewalk.
The [fr.ighte.ned] animal stopped when it noticed the life-sized deer statue outside the entrance.
It slowly approached, looked up at the statue’s face, and waited.
The employee watching the footage assumed the fawn would soon realize it wasn’t real and walk away. But it remained beside the statue long after the store closed.
When workers arrived the next morning, they found the fawn curled up against the statue’s legs, fast asleep.
