“Help us find Riggs” – Texas Fire department’s Firehouse Dog goes M.is.si.ng!

PRAYERS to the Midlothian Fire Department in Texas that they are able to find Riggs.🙏🙏

Hope he returns quickly safe and sound🙏 😘 😊 ❤️

A North Texas fire department is asking for the public’s help finding their firehouse dog who has gone [mi.ssi.ng].
The Midlothian Fire Department posted to Fb that the dog, Riggs, got out of Fire Station 1.

Fire Chief Dale McCaskill told WFAA: It’s very sad right now, we feel like we’ve [lo.st] a member of our family.
He has his own recliner in the station, he has his own little place where he sleeps, when you walk in those rooms, it feels a little empty.

Riggs has been the station dog for three years, the chief explained.
Chief McCaskill said: He’s just always happy, wants to greet you, be with you, follow you around the fire station, sometimes [s.t.e.al] a steak off the table.
Captain Austin Ullrich said Riggs helps all of the firefighters cope after a hard day.

Ullrich explained: You come back from a call, he’s there, excited to see you. In this day in age with mental health and everything, just having him by your side… he’ll just be laying there, and you feel okay, like a service dog.

Thanks to a generous donation, the station is offering a ($1,000) reward for Rigg’s safe return. Unfortunately, though, that’s prompted people to call pretending they have him in an attempt to get the cash.

The chief said: And that actually has just caused more [pa.in] and [su.ffering] for us.
Chief McCaskill said he believes it’s likely someone picked up Riggs after he [ran] away in the rain, trying to help him.

He said: Someone may have tried to pick Riggs up to protect him, and now they maybe have Riggs and don’t understand he belongs to the fire station and how much he means to us.
All of us have a little bit of a hole in our hearts right now.

If you see Riggs or have any information on his whereabouts, please contact Station 1 at (469)-672-0920 as soon as possible…

Praying for Riggs safety and that he’ll be home soon🙏🙏🙏
