The news that she was back almost had me in tears.

This up close and personal look into their lives, and the worry that comes with it when things go wrong… is the price we pay. Hoping Mrs. Jackie is ok 🙏

It is Saturday morning and things are not as they usually tend to be at the Big Bear Bald Eagle Nest. Jackie has not been seen in the habitat area since 11:44 AM PST Friday. We last heard and saw her chortling and soaring on Cam 2. Shadow guarded the eggs in the afternoon. He took the night shift as well, and did a great job. This morning Shadow briefly left the nest a few times and was seen soaring higher and higher on C2 likely scanning the area for his mate.

For those who don’t believe it is Jackie on the nest… rewind to about 8:27:29 this morning. Watch Shadow get up and notice the gray marking on his tail feathers. Then skip forward to 8:28:14 or so, and watch Jackie land. Notice her pure white tail feathers.

Jackie is back!! 🦅 🦅 ❤️

This is all of the information we have at this time. We know that this is upsetting and it is OK to feel how you need to feel. Try to avoid panicking. Try to stay calm and lean on each other. Love and positivity are the strongest powers that we have, so let’s use them.
