When a Maryland teenager decided to attend his high school prom without a date, his mother came up with an idea that turned an ordinary evening into an unforgettable family memory. Instead of finding him a traditional date, she dressed up their beloved rescue cat, Ruby, in a beautiful pink dress so he could take prom pictures with the furry friend who had been part of his life since childhood.
Sam Steingard grew up in Germantown, Maryland, with Ruby as one of his family’s most cherished companions. Nearly a decade earlier, his sister, Caroline, had found a tiny stray kitten behind a Ruby Tuesday restaurant and decided to bring her home.
